We just had Senior Send-off last night and it was oh so bittersweet. We have officially said goodbye to our graduates and we now usher in a new year full of new and amazing experiences. I just wanted to say I can't wait to begin!!

Have you ever had to start the school year with the “What I did for summer vacation” paper? I remember having to do that dreaded paragraph when I was younger. When I got to be a teenager (I know that was a long---time ago) I think the teachers liked to play that cruel joke on us even more by making you write a whole page! As I think about what has happened in Edge and Life Teen during the summer---Sonfest, Mission:Possible #5 and Whitewater (to name a few), it makes me more excited for the new school year. Youth Ministry has some great things in store and we also would love to hear what you guys want to do. The Edge year starts off with a bang with the Back to School Bash on August 8th and Edge classes begin on Wednesday, August 20th. Contact the RE office if you have not registered for Edge classes. The 08-09 school year is jammed pack with activities. Some of the fun things that are planned are Laser Tag, bowling and game nights. St. Oliver’s will be hosting the Archdiocese of Atlanta Youth Rally in November and our Retreat day is in March. Edge will also participate in Super Service Saturday in January and other various service projects. Life Teen (even though we meet year round) will officially kick off the 08-09 school year on Sunday, August 10th with our Senior Ring Ceremony and Back to School Dance---all high school students are invited! In September, Dinner Theater returns with the 2008 version of “Meet Me at Luigi’s”! Our Life Night semester will break open the topic of the “Paschal Mystery” and the fall retreat is scheduled for November 21-23. Also in November, Cardboard City will be an interesting opportunity to learn about being homeless. Wow, that’s just the tip of the iceberg! I look forward to our new adventures and hope that you all join St. Oliver’s Youth Ministry for the ride!!!! Peace, Lynn
